Description

The Kentucky Department of Corrections (DOC), Division of Adult Institutions operates 13 correctionalfacilities that house Kentucky's adult inmate population. The mission of DOC is to protect the citizens of theCommonwealth and to provide a safe, secure and humane environment for staff and offenders in carrying out themandates of the legislative and judicial processes; and, to provide opportunities for offenders to acquireskills which facilitate non-criminal behavior.

Kentucky State Penitentiary hiring an Administrative Specialist III. This position provides professionalsupport to the PREA (Prison Rape Elimination Act) Coordinator on facility level compliance matters.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Serves as the primary contact for PREA related incidents.
• Ensures all new offenders have been screened for sexual risk by intake staff.
• Maintains various database concerning PREA.
• Ensures PREA inmate orientation is completed and documented.
• Collects data and verifies data is entered in to KOMS (Kentucky Offender Management System).
• Participates in mock audits.
• Assists with annual report compilation.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Three years of professional, administrative, or business experience.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Working Conditions

Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting.

Probationary Period

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
