Director - Investigations & Disputes

Location: United States – Flexible, with Washington, D.C. or New York preferred Our client is a well-established and highly respected international consulting firm , specialising in complex investigations, disputes, intelligence and risk-related advisory work. With an established global footprint and a strong reputation for handling sensitive, high-profile and cross-border matters, the firm advises leading law firms, multinational corporations, financial institutions and other sophisticated clients. As part of its continued investment and growth in the United States, our client is looking to appoint an experienced Director to join its expanding US Disputes & Investigations practice. This is a senior, client-facing role for an investigations professional who can lead complex, sensitive and often cross-border assignments while also contributing to the continued growth and development of the US business. The successful candidate will bring significant experience across corporate investigations, disputes and litigation support , ideally gained within a specialist investigations consultancy, risk advisory firm, professional services business or related environment. Experience working on matters involving Latin America (LATAM) would be particularly valuable, although it is not essential. The Role The Director will take responsibility for leading complex investigations and disputes-related assignments, managing senior client relationships and supporting the continued growth of the US practice. Key responsibilities will include: Lead complex corporate investigations, litigation support and dispute-related assignments in the US and internationally. Manage investigations involving allegations of fraud, misconduct, corruption, asset concealment and other complex commercial issues. Support law firms, corporates, financial institutions and other clients in relation to contentious and high-stakes matters. Develop investigative strategies and oversee research, intelligence gathering, analysis and reporting. Lead asset tracing and recovery-related investigations , where appropriate. Manage cross-border assignments involving multiple jurisdictions, external advisers and international teams. Provide clear, commercially focused advice to senior stakeholders, including General Counsel, external legal advisers and senior management. Produce and oversee high-quality written reports, presentations and other client deliverables. Manage, mentor and develop junior and mid-level members of the investigations team. Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality, ethics and professional judgement. Contribute to the commercial development of the practice through client relationship management, networking, referrals and identifying new opportunities. Work collaboratively with colleagues across the firm's international offices and wider service lines. Candidate Profile We are interested in speaking with candidates who can demonstrate: Significant professional experience within corporate investigations, disputes, litigation support, business intelligence or related advisory work . A strong track record of managing complex and sensitive investigations from initial scoping through to final delivery. Experience working directly with law firms and senior corporate stakeholders . Strong knowledge of investigative research techniques, public records, corporate intelligence and information gathering. Experience managing cross-border matters and coordinating international investigative work. Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple complex engagements simultaneously. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing high-quality reports for sophisticated clients. The credibility and judgement required to operate effectively at Director level.
