Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provide specialized post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgical procedures, ensuring their stability and comfort. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, efficient, and personalized patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient vital signs and clinical status to determine readiness for discharge from PACU.
• Monitor patients continuously using advanced GE monitoring equipment and central monitoring stations.
• Administer medications, including analgesics and sedatives, as prescribed, while observing for adverse reactions.
• Collaborate with surgeons and anesthesiologists to update patient progress and implement care plans.
• Document all patient interactions, assessments, and interventions accurately in Meditech EMR.
• Respond promptly and effectively to patient emergencies or changes in condition.

Qualifications:

• Current and active RN license valid in Colorado.
• Minimum one year of recent PACU or perioperative nursing experience.
• BLS and ACLS certification required; trauma, neuro, pediatric, or thoracic experience preferred.
• Demonstrate strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and multi-task efficiently.
