SLP Position in Ocean Beach, San Diego

We are seeking an independent, ambitious, and passionate full time SLP who specializes or has an interest in Autism and other developmental disabilities. Our program is in the community of Ocean Beach in San Diego, California (we are 3 blocks from the beach!). We are a non-public school with 60 students with moderate/severe disabilities. Our program is designed to serve and help each individual student succeed, with half of their days spent out in the community targeting functional academics, language, and social skills. Our dynamic multi-disciplinary approach, intimate classroom size, community support, and great location have helped our program grow consistently throughout the past 15 years. This job requires independence, creativity, self-initiative, and teamwork. Many of our students use Touchat/Proloquo to augment their language skills across all settings. Our school allows for a non-traditional therapy approach, focusing on real world communication. We emphasize functional language and training staff/family how to implement and generalize language across all environments. This SLP position collaborates with credentialed teachers, occupational therapists, and BCBA's to promote student success in a caring and fun environment. Our program follows a traditional academic school year calendar (September - June) with 6 additional weeks in the summer for our extended school year (July-Aug). This schedule offers 155 days of time off scattered throughout the year.
