This is a temporary position, and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. Note: Permanent and time-limited NC State Government employees must separate from their permanent or time-limited position to work in a temporary position. All temporary employees are limited to one NC State Government temporary assignment at a time.

Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $25.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application). Effective July 1, 2025, candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed in the class specification. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities listed within this vacancy announcement will be used only as management preferences and will be used to screen for the most qualified pool of applicants.

Recruitment Requirements:

• Working knowledge of accounting methods, procedures, and practices.
• Knowledge of accounting and other software (e.g., ERP, Excel, Word, Access).
• Ability to understand, interpret, and apply the laws and regulations about financial records.
• Ability to use a posting, calculating, or adding machine in recording financial data or making computations.
• Ability to prepare standard financial statements and reports.
• Ability to identify and correct routine and recurring financial problems, referring more complex problems to a higher level.
• Ability to present financial information clearly and concisely in oral and written form.
• Ability to verify accounting documents and forms for accuracy and completeness.

Minimum Education and Experience:

Associate's degree in Accounting from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of accounting experience; or High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and three years of experience in accounting work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
