Proposal Engineer

Equity Staffing Group is seeking a Proposal Engineer to join a dynamic and collaborative team supporting engineered product proposals and customer solutions. This role is responsible for providing bid and proposal support to the sales team through technical evaluations, cost estimating, proposal preparation, and project coordination. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering competitive solutions that drive business growth.

Proposal Preparation

• Manage, coordinate, and support assigned budgetary and firm proposals requiring an EvapTech response
• Develop and implement proposal strategies alongside management and Business Development Managers
• Coordinate with internal and external teams to estimate labor, material, and freight costs
• Establish bid pricing using company pricing guidelines and management review
• Review customer technical and commercial specifications with internal stakeholders

Business Development Support

• Develop proposal scopes that highlight company strengths and meet customer expectations
• Attend customer meetings and pre-bid job walks as needed to gather project information
• Support sales initiatives by providing technical and commercial insight during the bidding process

Database & Reporting

• Maintain the accuracy of the Quote Database and support sales forecasting and budgeting efforts
• Create and maintain accurate entries in the Tower Reference Library

Post-Award Support

• Ensure a smooth transition from proposal development to project management phases
• Assist Project Management teams in resolving scope or contract expectation conflicts
• Prepare inspection reports with construction and management support to determine recommended repairs
• Serve as Project Manager on inspection projects without material scope of supply

Technical Design & Engineering Support

• Prepare thermal selections and performance predictions for standard counterflow and crossflow cooling towers
• Utilize StarDM software and fan vendor software to support technical selections and proposal accuracy

Minimum Qualifications

• Background in technical or engineering product applications
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or related field with strong math/science coursework
• 0–5 years of experience in Proposal Management, Project Management, or Application Sales

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an ABET/EAC accredited program or recognized equivalent
• Experience in application sales for capital or engineered products
• Familiarity with contracts and commercial terms
• Prior experience within the cooling tower industry
