Position Overview Unduit LLC is seeking a strategic, hands-on HR Business Partner (HRBP) to join our Chicago office in a part-time, primarily on-site role. This position works closely with company leadership to align HR strategy with business needs — advising managers on workforce planning, employee relations, and performance management — while also owning the operational backbone of HR: recruiting, onboarding, payroll administration, and compliance. This is a hybrid strategic-and-operational role, not a purely administrative one: the successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to leadership and a hands-on executor, present in the office regularly to build visibility, trust, and consistent partnership across the team. Remote work is available when circumstances require it. Key Responsibilities Strategic HR Partnership & Leadership Advisory Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership and people managers on workforce planning, org structure, and employee relations strategy Coach and equip managers to handle performance conversations, corrective action, and conflict resolution directly, stepping in personally on complex or escalated matters Monitor attendance, conduct, and policy-adherence trends, and advise leadership on where intervention is needed Enforce HR policies and procedures consistently, and own the formal employee discipline process when required — documentation, follow-up, and resolution Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning Partner with department leaders to forecast staffing needs and translate business priorities into role requirements Post job openings on LinkedIn, Indeed, and other recruitment platforms Review resumes and applications, conduct initial screening interviews, and manage the interview process and candidate communication Onboarding & Employee Lifecycle Prepare and coordinate new-hire onboarding materials and orientation Manage I-9 verification, benefits enrollment, and compliance documentation Support new hires and their managers through a smooth transition into their teams Payroll, Compensation & Benefits Administration (Paychex) Manage employee payroll processing and administration through Paychex Ensure accurate, timely payroll processing, tax withholding, and regulatory compliance Process payroll changes, deductions, and benefit adjustments Administer employee benefits, including health insurance and retirement plans HR Metrics, Compliance & Reporting Develop and monitor key HR metrics: time-to-hire, turnover, attendance, and engagement indicators Generate regular reports and insights for leadership review and strategic planning Support performance review processes and employee development plans Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment law Maintain confidential employee files and HR records Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or a related field required (or equivalent experience) Minimum 3–4 years of progressive HR experience, including direct exposure to employee relations, workforce planning, or advising people managers Experience with payroll systems (Paychex experience a plus) Working knowledge of employment law and HR compliance best practices Comfortable coaching managers through, and personally leading, direct and sometimes difficult conversations around conduct and performance Strong business acumen and the ability to translate company priorities into HR strategy and action Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR/HRIS software Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment Preferred Qualifications SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR certification Prior experience as an HR Business Partner or in a business-partnering capacity Experience in IT, technology, or ITAD industry Familiarity with LinkedIn Recruiter or similar platforms Experience with performance management systems and KPI tracking Work Arrangement Location: Chicago office (on-site) Position Type: Part-Time, 20–30 hours per week Schedule: Primarily on-site; remote work available on an as-needed basis, not a default arrangement Why Join Unduit LLC?
