Job Title: Wiring and Assembly Technician

Job Description

This role focuses on wiring and assembling 12V electrical systems for truck bodies, ensuring all components operate safely and reliably. You will interpret specifications, design criteria, and blueprints to install and modify electrical and mechanical components, using a variety of tools and equipment in a dynamic shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Wire and assemble 12V electrical systems for truck bodies and 1/2 ton trucks, ensuring all components are powered and function correctly.
• Read and interpret specifications, design criteria, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and wiring schematics to perform accurate installations and modifications.
• Install, route, and secure wiring harnesses for chassis components and related systems.
• Use hand, air, and power tools to complete assembly processes, including bolting, riveting, welding, and hucking.
• Perform electrical assembly tasks such as soldering, crimping, and testing circuits using appropriate tools and equipment, including voltmeters.
• Support truck up-fitting activities, including build-outs and in-field applications related to work truck bodies and hoists.
• Manage daily priorities and workflow efficiently to meet project deadlines and production schedules.
• Adapt to changing priorities and assignments while maintaining high standards of work quality and safety.
• Operate forklifts to move materials and components as needed, and assist with receiving tasks and material handling.
• Lift, carry, and position parts and equipment, and perform stretching and other physical activities required for assembly work.

Essential Skills

• Experience in truck up-fitting and 12V electrical systems.
• Advanced knowledge of wiring and harnesses for chassis components.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and wiring schematics.
• Hands-on experience with electrical wiring, electrical assembly, and 12V systems for 1/2 ton trucks.
• Proficiency with hand tools, air tools, and power tools used in assembly work.
• Skill in soldering, crimping, and working with wiring harnesses.
• Ability to use a voltmeter and other basic electrical testing equipment.
• Understanding of build-outs and in-field applications related to work truck bodies and hoists.
• Physical ability to lift, stretch, and perform repetitive motions required in an assembly environment.
• Demonstrated versatility and flexibility in handling various tasks and responsibilities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Welding experience is a plus.
• Forklift operating experience is a plus.
• Comfort working from specifications, design criteria, and technical documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
• Ability to manage priorities and workflow in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

You will work across multiple buildings, each focused on different assembly operations related to truck bodies and electrical systems. The environment is a shop and production setting that uses a variety of hand, air, and power tools, as well as welding equipment and forklifts. Work involves standing, lifting, stretching, and handling components throughout the day while collaborating with a team to complete assemblies and installations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Blue Earth, MN.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Blue Earth,MN.
