As a key player in our profit center, the Underwriter will play a crucial role in assessing risk, underwriting policies, and contributing to the profitability and growth of our portfolio.Responsibilities:* Manage the Midwest Underwriting Team* Evaluate and underwrite large property insurance submissions.* Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and analysis to determine appropriate coverage, terms, and pricing.* Collaborate with brokers, clients, and internal teams to gather necessary information and ensure a thorough understanding of each risk.* Maintain a keen awareness of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks.* Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, and other key stakeholders.* Work closely with the management team to establish underwriting guidelines and strategies for the portfolio.* Monitor and manage the performance of the assigned portfolio, making recommendations for adjustments as needed.Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in a related field; advanced degree or professional certifications are a plus.* 10 years of underwriting experience in large property accounts.* In-depth knowledge of the energy industry, including familiarity with various energy sources, technologies, and associated risks.* Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to assess complex risks.* Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships.* Proven track record of meeting underwriting goals and contributing to the profitability of a portfolio.* Proficient in using underwriting software and other relevant tools.
