What to Expect The Foreman Electrician will work on job sites primarily based in Sacramento and the Bay Area; some travel will be required to other regions. Projects will range between 3 to 7 weeks by a cross-functional team of 4 to 20 members handling all trades required to get the work done collectively. Foster a collaborative, high-performance team environment, mentor and develop electricians and field technicians, and drive project success through meticulous planning, precise execution, troubleshooting, commissioning, and ongoing optimization. What You’ll Do Perform new installations of power distribution systems, transformers, underground conduit and pad work, switchgear, AC/DC inverters, lighting, and electrical equipment up to 480 VAC / 1000 VDC, including battery storage and solar generation components. Bend, install, and manage conduit systems while interpreting complex electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to plan work scopes, execute improvements, troubleshoot issues, and resolve problems. Supervise and lead teams of electricians, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols, project schedules, quality standards, and fostering accountability, innovation, and mutual respect. Mentor and develop electricians by providing technical guidance, constructive feedback, skill‑building opportunities, and promoting a positive, inclusive workplace culture focused on open communication and continuous learning. Prepare precise material takeoff lists, collaborating with electricians and construction managers to accurately estimate quantities and optimize resource allocation. Develop and implement Management of Change Procedures (MOPs) for equipment shutdowns, including risk assessments, stakeholder coordination, regulatory compliance, and minimization of operational risks. Participate in pre‑construction meetings to review project scope, timelines, and technical requirements while advocating for electrical best practices and ensuring team preparedness for successful project execution. What You’ll Bring Hold a valid State Certified Electrician License, with in-depth knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA safety standards, and CPR/First Aid certification. Demonstrate hands‑on experience with low‑to‑high‑voltage systems up to 480 VAC and 1000 VDC; preferred experience includes fiber optic cable terminations, medium voltage, utility‑scale projects, and photovoltaic (PV) systems. Possess full flexibility for extensive travel (multiple sites daily, up to 2 weeks at a time with short notice), weekend and overtime work, plus compliant government‑issued ID for air travel/federal facility access and a valid driver’s license. Proficiently use trade tools, electrical meters, testing equipment, and technology; capable of regularly lifting/pulling at least 50 lbs and wearing a 25‑lb tool belt. Physically able to work at heights (rooftops, ladders, stairs), perform repetitive tasks (lifting, bending, prolonged standing), and operate effectively in extreme conditions (hot sun, cold, confined spaces, crawl spaces). Bring 10+ years of proven experience as a journeyman or lead electrician in commercial and/or industrial settings. Exhibit strong leadership and mentoring abilities, excellent blueprint reading and interpretation skills, proficiency in generating material takeoff lists and using CAD/estimation software, plus superior communication and cross‑functional collaboration.
