Job Title: Yard Operator
Job Description
As a Yard Operator, you will be responsible for moving trailers, tanks, and equipment throughout the yard using yard trucks, forklifts, or other heavy equipment. You will play a vital role in staging materials and finished products for production, shipping, and receiving. Ensuring the safe and efficient loading and unloading of materials is crucial to the success of the operations.
Responsibilities

• Move trailers, tanks, and equipment throughout the yard using yard trucks, forklifts, or other heavy equipment.
• Stage materials and finished products for production, shipping, and receiving.
• Load and unload materials safely and efficiently.
• Assist with inventory organization and yard housekeeping.
• Coordinate with production, shipping, and logistics teams to ensure timely movement of materials.
• Secure loads and verify material locations throughout the facility.
• Operate forklifts, skid steers, and other industrial equipment as needed.
• Maintain compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
• Assist with general yard labor and material handling duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• Experience as a Yard Jockey, Yard Operator, Spotter, Material Handler, Heavy Equipment Operator, or Forklift Operator.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts and heavy equipment.
• Experience working in an industrial, manufacturing, fabrication, steel, or construction environment preferred.
• Ability to work comfortably outdoors in Florida heat and varying weather conditions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Proficiency in trailer spotting and yard truck operation.
• Experience with forklift operation (sit-down and/or large-capacity forklifts).
• Experience in steel fabrication, tank manufacturing, structural steel, or heavy industrial environments.
• Familiarity with shipping and receiving operations

Work Environment
The work environment involves outdoor conditions in Florida's heat and varying weather. The facility is non-climate controlled, with large industrial fans. It is a hands-on, dirty, and dusty environment, typical of a large industrial setting.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tampa, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
