Locum Tenens Emergency Medicine Physician Opportunity

Physician opportunity in Emergency Medicine for locum tenens coverage at St. Bernard Parish Hospital in Chalmette, Louisiana, with SCP Health - Locums. The coverage period is from Apr 30, 2026, to ongoing. The shift schedule includes 7a-7p, 2p-12a, and 7p-7a.

The position offers travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance coverage. The facility sees an average of 79 patients per day, utilizing the Ochsner EPIC EMR system. Specialty backup is available in various fields including cardiology, endocrinology, pulmonary, urology, gastroenterology, ICU, ortho, psych, radiology & diagnostic imaging, and general surgery.

Hospital privileges are required, with a credentialing timeline of 30-60 days. Temporary privileges are available. Board certification/eligibility in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine is necessary, along with ACLS, ATLS, and PALS certifications. Residency training in the specialty is required.

Duties include providing comprehensive emergency medical care, working a combination of day and night shifts, collaborating with NP/PA staff, utilizing Ochsner EPIC EMR for documentation and order entry, and participating in onboarding orientation, EMR training, and shadow shift.
