Kit Packer / Shipper

$20/hour | First Shift: M-F: 8am-4:30pm

The Kit Packer / Shipper packages and releases medical kits by accurately picking, assembling, and labeling products according to work orders. This role uses RF scanning equipment and computer systems to verify items, document work, and maintain accurate inventory records. The position combines hands-on material handling with careful inspection and documentation to ensure high-quality products are prepared for shipment.

Responsibilities

• Work directly from work orders to pick, pack, and assemble kits accurately and efficiently.
• Use mobile RF scanning equipment to locate items, verify part numbers, and confirm correct quantities for each order.
• Push carts throughout the facility to pick and box items listed on work orders.
• Set up kits according to specifications, ensuring all required components are included and properly arranged.
• Inspect finished products and kits for accuracy, quality, and completeness before release.
• Print and apply labels to products and kits, ensuring all information is correct and legible.
• Label and cap products as needed to prepare them for packaging and shipment.
• Break down expired kits, separating and handling components according to established procedures.
• Participate in annual cycle counts and routine inventory activities to maintain accurate stock levels.
• Use a computer to navigate multiple databases to check inventory levels and document inventory movements.
• Record completed work on spreadsheets and in inventory systems with accurate data entry.
• Pick products stored in standard and walk-in freezers, limiting time inside the walk-in freezer to brief periods while retrieving items.
• Handle general material handling, packaging, and assembly tasks as needed to support production and shipping operations.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all workplace safety and quality guidelines.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of order selection and inventory experience.
• Experience using mobile RF scanning equipment to scan orders, locate items, and accurately pick correct parts and quantities.
• Experience performing inventory cycle counting.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in part counting and order verification.
• Ability to communicate clearly in both written and verbal forms.
• Ability to accurately document finished work in spreadsheets and inventory systems.
• Proficiency with basic computer use, including navigating databases to check and update inventory information.
• Experience with picking, packing, and material handling in a production or warehouse environment.
• Ability to perform inspection of finished goods to ensure quality and completeness.
• Capability to work with labeling, kitting, and packaging tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in medical, medical device, or clean manufacturing environments.
• Experience with general labor, assembly, and production tasks.
• Familiarity with using basic hand tools in a packaging or assembly setting.
• Comfort working with products stored in cold environments, including standard and walk-in freezers.
• Ability to multitask across picking, packing, labeling, and inventory functions.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple work orders and priorities.

Work Environment

The role is based in a clean, well-lit medical manufacturing environment with comfortable temperatures and a strong emphasis on organization and quality. The facility resembles a college campus, featuring large break rooms, recreational areas such as ping pong spaces, and workout rooms that support a balanced and engaging workday. Some products are stored in standard upright freezers similar to those found in a home garage, and there is an occasional need to enter a larger walk-in freezer briefly—typically no more than 2 to 5 minutes at a time—to retrieve items; gloves are provided when handling cold products. The environment supports regular use of RF scanners, computers, and other standard material handling and packaging equipment. The site is accessible via public transportation, making commuting easier for employees.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
