SUMMARY: The Creative Communications & Brand Coordinator is responsible for leading Northwest Indian Treatment Center’s visual identity, communications strategy, storytelling, and public-facing presence. This role serves as the steward of NWITC’s organizational brand and is responsible for ensuring communications reflect the mission, values, and culturally grounded approach of the organization.
This position combines communications leadership, multimedia production, graphic design, branding development, photography, videography, digital communications, and community engagement to strengthen awareness of NWITC services and expand referral relationships.
The position develops internal and external communication materials while ensuring cultural respect, trauma-informed messaging, and representation that honors Tribal traditions, healing journeys, and the dignity of those served.
The Coordinator serves as a liaison to referral partners, Tribal entities, healthcare systems, and community organizations while supporting organizational growth through strategic outreach and brand development initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Brand Development & Organizational Identity
- Lead development and maintenance of NWITC brand standards and organizational identity
- Develop logos, visual identities, campaign branding, and marketing collateral for programs, initiatives, events, and organizational campaigns
- Ensure consistency in visual presentation and messaging across platforms
- Maintain organizational branding standards and templates
- Support leadership with internal branding initiatives and communication strategies
- Create materials that reflect Tribal values and culturally grounded healing practices
Graphic Design & Creative Development
- Design educational materials, brochures, flyers, posters, banners, infographics, annual reports, presentations, newsletters, and promotional materials
- Translate complex treatment and healthcare information into visually engaging educational content
- Create patient education materials that are accessible and culturally responsive
- Develop graphics supporting prevention, treatment, recovery, alumni, and community initiatives
- Design visual materials supporting grants, events, recruitment efforts, and program development
Photography & Videography
- Capture photography documenting organizational events, outreach activities, cultural programming, and approved program operations
- Develop professional photo assets supporting outreach and marketing efforts
- Create short-form and long-form video content for educational initiatives, social media campaigns, staff communications, and community awareness
- Conduct video editing and post-production development
- Develop visual storytelling initiatives that respectfully reflect patient recovery, community healing, and organizational culture
- Maintain photo and video libraries consistent with confidentiality requirements and organizational standards
- Ensure proper media consent processes are followed
Content Development & Digital Communications
- Develop written and multimedia content for websites, newsletters, social media, educational campaigns, and organizational communications
- Create messaging that is culturally respectful, trauma-informed, and aligned with organizational values
- Develop communication campaigns supporting organizational priorities
- Write internal announcements, program highlights, event communications, and external messaging
- Support development of executive presentations, annual reports, and organizational publications
- Develop communication calendars and campaign schedules
Social Media Management
- Manage NWITC social media platforms and digital engagement efforts
- Develop social media strategies that strengthen awareness and referral relationships
- Create content including graphics, video, photography, and educational materials
- Monitor analytics and engagement metrics
- Maintain a consistent organizational voice across communication channels
- Monitor emerging communication trends and opportunities
Community Outreach & Network Development
- Build and maintain relationships with Tribal organizations, healthcare systems, behavioral health agencies, referral partners, hospitals, treatment providers, and community stakeholders
- Conduct outreach efforts designed to strengthen referral pathways
- Coordinate presentations and informational opportunities with outside agencies
- Represent NWITC at conferences, events, networking opportunities, and community engagement activities
- Collaborate with leadership to expand organizational visibility and community partnerships
- Develop referral support materials and agency resource packets
- Maintain referral partner communication systems and outreach tracking processes
Website & Digital Platform Management
- Support website updates and content maintenance
- Monitor online communication consistency and accessibility
- Assist with search optimization efforts and digital visibility initiatives
- Maintain online branding standards and communication quality
- Portfolio Development & Creative Asset Management
- Maintain organizational libraries of graphics, templates, photographs, video assets, logos, and communication materials
- Organize and archive multimedia assets for future organizational use
- Develop systems ensuring brand consistency across departments
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : This position has no supervisory responsibilities

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Digital Media, Graphic Design, Multimedia Production, Journalism, or related field required. Equivalent experience may substitute for education.
Minimum qualifications:
- Four (4) years of experience in communications, marketing, digital media, graphic design, photography, videography, or brand development
- Experience developing multimedia communication campaigns
- Experience with graphic design software platforms
- Experience creating digital and print marketing materials
- Experience managing social media communications and website development
- Experience developing branding standards preferred
- Experience within Tribal communities, healthcare organizations, behavioral health settings, or nonprofit organizations preferred
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with individuals from diverse cultural, professional, and community backgrounds. Ability to write, edit, and proofread professional communications, marketing materials, reports, social media content, and educational materials with a high degree of accuracy and professionalism. Ability to communicate complex healthcare, behavioral health, and organizational information clearly and respectfully to various audiences. Ability to present information effectively in both individual and group settings. Ability to maintain culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and strengths-based communication practices in all written and verbal communications.
Ability to develop messaging that reflects the mission, values, and culturally grounded practices of Northwest Indian Treatment Center.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate percentages, ratios, and basic statistical data related to marketing performance, social media analytics, and outreach metrics. Ability to interpret and analyze engagement reports, website analytics, campaign performance measures, and organizational communication metrics. Ability to develop and maintain spreadsheets and reports related to outreach activities, program participation, and marketing initiatives. Ability to utilize data to identify trends and make recommendations for improving communication strategies and community engagement efforts.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid Washington State Driver’s License. Acceptable driving record to be insured by tribal insurance. Criminal background check.
