Workday Integration Developer

ABOUT THE ROLE Our client's Software Engineering team builds and maintains the connections that keep our business data moving; integrations, automation, and the pipelines that tie our internal systems together.As an Integrations Engineer on this team, you'll own the design, development, and maintenance of integrations across our client's application landscape. That means building and supporting API-based connections between internal tools and third-party platforms, managing data flows through our integration layer, and making sure the right data gets to the right place reliably. You'll work closely with both technical and business stakeholders to understand what systems need to talk to each other and why. This is a hands-on role with real ownership, when an integration breaks or a business process gets blocked, you're the one who fixes it.WHAT YOU'LL DO Integration Ownership & Delivery Design and implement new integrations across our client's Workday environment, owning work end-to-end from technical design through deployment and ongoing maintenanceDiagnose and resolve integration failures, data quality issues, and performance problems across the integration portfolioParticipate in requirements conversations with HR, Finance, and operational stakeholders and translate business needs into reliable, maintainable integration solutionsContribute to roadmap and prioritization discussions alongside the engineering manager and functional partnersDocument integrations including integration logic, field mappings, error handling behavior, and runbooksDevelopment Design, build, and maintain integrations using Workday Studio, Workday Orchestrate, Core Connectors, and EIBs depending on complexity and use caseWork with Workday APIs, both REST and SOAP/XML, to connect Workday to internal systems and third-party platformsUse Workday RAAS and custom reports as integration data sourcesWrite Python and scripting solutions to automate, transform, or move data where native Workday tooling doesn't reachHandle XML and XSLT transformations within Studio-based integrationsBuild and maintain integrations with third-party systems; benefits carriers, payroll vendors, identity platforms, and internal toolsCollaboration and Documentation Contribute to technical design documents, runbooks, and inline code documentationParticipate in code reviews and help raise the baseline quality of the team's workPartner with business stakeholders to understand operational workflowsFlag risks early and communicate blockers clearlyWHAT YOU BRING Required 3-5 years of professional software engineering or integrations experience, with a focus on enterprise platforms and data flowsHands-on experience building and maintaining integrations in Workday Studio, Workday Orchestrate, Core Connectors, and EIBsProficiency in Python or equivalent scripting for data transformation, automation, and integration support tasksFamiliarity with Workday RAAS and custom reporting as integration data sourcesAbility to write clear technical documentation and communicate findings to non-technical stakeholdersHighly Preferred Hands-on experience with REST API patterns including OAuth 2.0, JSON payloads, and webhook-based flowsPrior work connecting Workday to third-party systems — benefits carriers, payroll vendors, identity platforms, or internal toolsComfort inheriting integrations you didn't build, in environments where documentation is incompleteWHO YOU ARE We're looking for someone who:Takes ownership.
