Commercial & Industrial HVAC Diagnostics Technician

Step into a day where your expertise keeps buildings comfortable and productive. As a key member of our mechanical contracting team, you’ll start your morning reviewing scheduled preventive maintenance for commercial and industrial clients, with the occasional small-building residential unit mixed in. By midday, you’re diagnosing complex performance issues, adjusting control sequences from the console, and advising customers on the work completed. You’ll wrap up by documenting service notes in our software and planning for the next challenge.

What You’ll Tackle

• Execute preventive maintenance across commercial and industrial HVAC systems, with occasional service on residential units in smaller buildings
• Troubleshoot, isolate, and diagnose faults in HVAC equipment and systems
• Repair and replace defective components, parts, and wiring
• Install, maintain, and repair HVAC equipment
• Service and adjust HVAC controls for a range of equipment brands
• Perform functional testing to confirm safe, optimal operation
• Clearly explain findings, repairs, and maintenance to customers
• Accurately document work performed using iPads/computers and service software
• Stay current on emerging HVAC technologies and industry practices

What You Bring

• 5+ years of Journeyman-level HVAC service and repair experience; confident working independently and serving as the customer point of contact
• A refrigeration certification is required; additional refrigeration certifications are highly desired (Journeyman license not required)
• Strength in troubleshooting and a deep understanding of HVAC systems
• Knowledge of refrigeration, hydronic, and airside systems
• Ability to service controls across multiple brands
• Intimate knowledge of controls operation; while we do not install control systems, you will manipulate them from the console to troubleshoot, adjust, and maintain proper operation
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Comfort using iPads, computers, and service software
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
