• Pay Rate: $58.00 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: Day Shift — 12-hour days, 3x12 (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM); 36 hours only. Every other weekend required. Self-scheduling.
• Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Job Summary

This is a contract Registered Nurse – Dialysis position within an Acute Hemodialysis unit featuring 9 stations and one isolation station. The unit operates two hemodialysis room shifts per day, with patients transported via Patient Transport requested through Epic. ICU/PCU and bedside treatments are provided 1:1 for patients on ventilators, titratable IV drips, and airborne isolation. Patient diagnoses include end stage renal disease on dialysis, chronic kidney disease progression to hemodialysis, acute kidney injury, peritoneal dialysis failure/infection requiring change of modality to hemodialysis, and transplant rejection requiring hemodialysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide acute hemodialysis nursing care across 9 stations and one isolation station.
• Perform ICU/PCU and bedside treatments at a 1:1 ratio for patients on ventilators, titratable IV drips, and airborne isolation.
• Operate Fresenius T Hemodialysis Machines with CliC and Bibag, and Marcor Millenium HX portable reverse osmosis machines.
• Operate Baxter equipment for peritoneal dialysis.
• Coordinate patient transport through Epic for hemodialysis room treatments.
• Utilize Pyxis and EPIC Dimensions for medication management, documentation, and communication on unit.
• Use Voalte phone to receive verbal report from nurses.
• Night shift RN must be competent with cycler, CAPD, obtaining PD fluid sample, and hemodialysis.
• Depending on PD and hemodialysis night shift census, may be assigned to a task within Division departments (not patient assignment).
• Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team; contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty, or disaster.
• Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid-contract may occur and contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed.

Required Skills

• Minimum 2 years of experience in dialysis nursing.
• Acute hemodialysis experience required (day shift position does not require cycler experience).
• Must have recent acute hemodialysis experience with Fresenius equipment.
• Must have peritoneal dialysis experience with Baxter equipment.
• BLS certification required.
• Ability to work every other weekend.
• Competency with Pyxis and EPIC Dimensions.

Preferred Skills

• CAPD experience is helpful.
• ACLS certification preferred.
• CDN (Certified Dialysis Nurse) or CNN (Certified Nephrology Nurse) preferred.
• Traveler experience not required; locals accepted.

Education Requirements

• Active RN License required.
• BLS certification required.

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of dialysis nursing experience required.
• Recent acute hemodialysis experience with Fresenius equipment required.
• Peritoneal dialysis experience with Baxter equipment required.

Nice-to-Have Experience

• CAPD (Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis) experience.
• Prior travel nursing experience (not required; first-time travelers accepted).

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Acute inpatient hemodialysis unit with 9 stations and one isolation station.
• Patient ratio: 1:1–2.
• Float requirement: Not required.
• Call requirement: None; depending on PD and hemodialysis night shift census, staff may be assigned to a task within Division departments (not patient assignment).
• Self-scheduling.
• Every other weekend required.
• 12-hour day shifts; 36 hours per week only.
• Must be prepared to work Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments, including during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters.
• Scrubs provided.

Important Notes

• RTO (Return to Origin) after booking is not allowed and is not allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on unit could possibly result in contract cancellation and DNR (Do Not Rehire).
• Unit orientation: 24 hours total — 12 hours ICU/offsite and 12 hours dialysis room/peritoneal dialysis.
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only).
• Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid-contract may occur; contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed.
