Licensed Practical Nurse

Licensed Practical Nurse will provide nursing care to students in a school setting for a 36-week contract in Tacoma, Washington. The role supports student health needs during the school day and collaborates with school staff and families to maintain a safe and organized health office environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care and health support to students during the school day in accordance with LPN scope of practice and school policies
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered and document care accurately per school and district procedures
• Perform basic assessments, provide first aid, and respond appropriately to student health concerns
• Collaborate with school staff, parents/guardians, and healthcare providers to support student wellness and safe return-to-class planning
• Maintain a safe, organized health office environment and support required health records, compliance needs, and daily nursing tasks

Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing (LPN) program (certificate/diploma) or equivalent
• Active WA LPN license
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Minimum 0 years of experience (new grads encouraged to apply)
• Ability to work a daytime school schedule up to 6.5 hours per day
• Availability for 32–40 hours per week (typically ~32.5 hours/week)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Professional, compassionate, and student-focused approach
• Flexibility with pending facility details (orientation, EMR, scrubs, and other site expectations)

Preferred Skills:

• Current CPR/BLS certification (preferred for school-based nursing)
