Your Responsibilities

• Performing thorough patient evaluations, ordering necessary diagnostic tests, and developing personalized care plans
• Diagnosing and managing acute, episodic, or chronic conditions, either in collaboration with physicians or independently (as per credentialing)
• Instructing patients and their families on preventive measures, wellness strategies, and chronic disease management
• Prescribing medications and therapies in accordance with the scope of practice
• Engaging in patient follow-ups and chronic care management
• Working alongside interdisciplinary teams to ensure integrated, holistic care
• Documenting precisely and thoroughly in electronic medical records (EMR)

Education and Certification Requirements

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program

Key Certifications Needed

• Active Nurse Practitioner licensure in Louisiana
• National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or an equivalent specialty
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or the ability to acquire these within 90 days)
