Why join us: Located east of Clovis Company is growing at a high rate Newly created role due to forming new business unit Strong benefits and a 4% 401(k) retirement match Reports to Accounting Manager and Financial Controller Career growth associated with the role Visibility to executive management Job Details Salary: $85,000 - $95,000 per year As a Permanent Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in our Accounting + Finance department. You will be responsible for leading assigned month-end close activities, overseeing adherence to established deadlines, and preparing, reviewing, and approving journal entries. In addition, you will manage the fixed asset accounting process, reconcile daily cash activity, and review and analyze inventory balances. You will also provide guidance to accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, support and mentor junior accounting staff, and perform additional accounting and financial duties as assigned. Responsibilities Lead assigned month-end close activities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting. Oversee adherence to the established close calendar, coordinating with cross-functional teams to meet reporting deadlines. Prepare, review, and approve recurring and adjusting journal entries in accordance with GAAP and company policy. Manage the fixed asset accounting process in BNA software. Oversee and reconcile daily cash activity to maintain integrity of cash flow reporting. Review and analyze inventory balances and variances, preparing monthly reports that support accurate cost of goods sold. Develop and maintain comprehensive workpapers and documentation that align with company policies and procedures. Provide guidance and backup support to accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor account information in the accounting system. Support and mentor junior accounting staff. Manage and prioritize the accounting team’s workload, ensuring deadlines are met and resources are allocated effectively. Assist management with performance discussions, providing input on individual contributions and identifying areas for improvement. Perform additional accounting and financial duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. Minimum of 4-5 years of progressive accounting experience. Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles. Experience with BNA software and other accounting systems. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong leadership and mentoring abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines. Detail-oriented with high standards for accuracy and precision. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Experience in the Accounting + Finance industry is a plus. Jobot is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
