Job Summary Langan is seeking an Environmental Engineer to join its collaborative team in Chicago . This individual will spend a majority of the time in the field with occasional time in the office and will serve a key function in working on small-scale and large-scale environmental land development projects. In this role, you will have the opportunity to partner across disciplines in a continuous learning environment. Job Responsibilities Assistwith the planning and execution of field investigations by logging borings, collecting samples, performing field tests and collecting and recording data; Monitorconstruction projects by taking various tests to evaluate whether the contractor or subcontractor has complied with job specifications; Identifyand implementsolutions to both routine and more complex field and/or laboratory problems and accurately documents results; Preparereports documenting field investigations and analytical results. Preparea variety of standard logs and field forms (such as drilling logs, field investigation dailies, and chain of custody logs); Learndata management and modeling tools for environmental media, how to perform engineering analyses, and how to properly use field equipment; and Performother duties as requested. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in EnvironmentalEngineering; 0-2years of work-related experience; EIT Certification or current registration for the FE exam preferred; Prior relevant internship or professional work experience preferred; Strong technical education, professional demeanor, and desire to learn; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities; Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment; and Possess a valid driver’s license in good standing and reliable transportation access to remote job site locations. The estimated range for this role is: $65,000 - $84,500. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, location, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills. Certain roles may be eligible for overtime and participation in the firm's annual bonus and performance review program. Bonuses are discretionary and based on individual job performance and the profitability of the firm. Employees are also eligible to receive up to 20 days of paid vacation time, 10 days of paid sick time and 10 paid holidays throughout the year.
