Job description:

A non-profit victim services agency is seeking a qualified and compassionate MSW Social Worker to join our team. This individual/group counselor will provide trauma-informed counseling to survivors of domestic violence in both residential and non-residential settings. This role is ideal for a clinician committed to supporting survivor healing and empowerment through culturally responsive and evidence-based therapeutic practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling to adult and child survivors of domestic violence.
• Conduct psychosocial assessments to determine client needs and appropriate interventions.
• Deliver crisis intervention services as needed.
• Coordinate with external providers to facilitate mental health evaluations, psychiatric referrals, and medication management.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with agency and funder requirements.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences to ensure holistic care.
• Provide referrals and collaborate with internal and external service providers to support client safety and well-being.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field required.
• Valid LMSW licensure in New York State is required.
• Prior experience working with survivors of domestic violence and knowledge of trauma, PTSD, and related mental health concerns.
• Familiarity with evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, and trauma-focused interventions.
• SIFI certification preferred.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Work Environment:
This is a full-time, in-person position based in Suffolk County, with occasional evening and/or weekend hours required to meet client needs.
