Safety Specialist - Second Shift | Wilmington, DE

Responsibilities HazTek is seeking an experienced Construction Safety Manager to support an active construction project in Wilmington, DE . This is a hands‑on, field‑based role for a safety professional who thrives in a fast‑paced construction environment and is comfortable working independently while partnering closely with project leadership. Schedule First 6 weeks: Second Shift (3-11PM EST) After project startup: Alternating First and Second Shift on a weekly basis Responsibilities Provide daily field safety oversight on an active construction project. Conduct site inspections and identify unsafe conditions and behaviors. Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), and Safe Work Plans (SWPs). Monitor high-risk work including fall protection, confined space, excavation, crane activities, electrical work, and permit‑required tasks. Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, and pre-task meetings. Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns, ensuring timely corrective actions. Partner with project management, contractors, and client representatives to promote a strong safety culture. Verify compliance with OSHA regulations, client requirements, and company safety standards. Serve as the primary on‑site safety resource during second shift operations. Qualifications OSHA 510 certification required Construction safety experience in commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or mission‑critical environments. Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices. Experience supporting high‑risk construction activities and permit‑to‑work programs. Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship‑building skills. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field.
