Overview
Speech Language Pathologist, Acute Care, Canaan, Connecticut. This is a travel, temporary assignment starting August 1, 2026 for 13 weeks in a long-term care setting. Weekly pay ranges from $2,079 to $2,145. Shift is 5x8 days (08:00–16:30). No guaranteed hours. This role supports residents in a nursing home environment with a focus on communication and swallowing disorders.

Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of residents with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing concerns.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans and goals.
- Provide direct therapy services, document progress notes, and adjust plans as needed.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team, including nursing and rehabilitation staff, to coordinate care.
- Educate residents, families, and caregivers on strategies to improve communication and swallowing safety.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with regulatory and facility policies.

Requirements
- Active Speech-Language Pathologist license to practice in Connecticut
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Certification: CCC-SLP preferred or eligible (ASHA)
- Relevant experience: 1+ year in adult, acute care, or long-term care settings preferred
- Ability to work in a long-term care setting and participate in a travel assignment
- Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills
