Lecturer I (Accounting) Agency: Prairie View A&M University Department: College of Business | Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems (MIS) Location: Prairie View, Texas Job Type: Faculty Job Description Salary: The salary is determined in accordance with the University’s compensation structure and will be commensurate with the candidate’s education and experience, within the assigned salary range for this position. Responsibilities Teach five classes each semester in the accounting area as assigned by the department head. Participate in the operation of the department/college (serve on committees/taskforce, student organizations, etc.). Engage in research or other intellectual activities, professional certifications, etc. Perform other duties as assigned by the department/college. Required Education and Experience Master's degree in Accounting from a regionally accredited institution. No experience required. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to teach effectively at the college level. Strong written and oral communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in accounting from an AACSB accredited institution. CPA/CMA/CIA certification. Three years of teaching experience at the college level; ability to teach introductory and intermediate level accounting as well as auditing courses.
