Program Support Assistant

Program Support Assistant Duties to include but not limited to: Coordination for Surgical Residents and the Surgical Service Programs; Stool Lecture Program with the University and VA Surgical Staff Serves as the interface between the students at the Medical Center and then Medical Administration Service Responsible for information flow and dissemination within the service and to the universities Assists the Administrative Officer in the administration of the Residency Program at the Medical Center including scheduling, processing, evaluation, and accountability for the Residency Program in coordination with the universities Coordinates schedule assignments based on the needs of the Surgical Service and in coordination with the participating institutions Reviews all evaluation and brings to the attention of the Chief, Surgical Service, inclusive of pertinent information Distribution and collection of all Medical Student evaluations. Processes the information and communicates it to the universities as required. Provide support to the Program Director, Chief Resident's, University Coordinators, and the Administrative Officer Prepares and distributes letters of recommendation from the Chief of Surgery, and other Surgical Service Staff, as requested by the Surgical Residents and Medical Students Prepares appropriate forms for travel and reimbursement for members of the Surgical Service Perform secretarial duties adherent in the continually daily functions of the Surgical Service.
