The Restaurant at Embers Hotel, is actively searching for a creative, fast-paced, and professional Line Cook to join our Culinary Team.  Our restaurant offers breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week in season for hotel guests and locals.

Tucked in the quaint mountain town of Blowing Rock, North Carolina, The Embers Hotel offers 36 guest rooms and suites with full-service restaurant and al fresco dining patio. Managed by Hay Creek Hotels, this boutique location embodies a fireside retreat with 4-star service in an approachable, natural setting.

Wage:

$19 - $25 per hour based on experience.

Job Summary:

• Work closely with the Sous Chef and Executive Chef to ensure that all items needed are in stock. Maintain daily pars and place inventory orders as needed.
• Practice and enforce proper food storage safety, allergy awareness, compliance with health department code, and all other safety and security policies and procedures.
• Oversee all work stations, often assisting in completing daily prep and working on each station.
• Enforce quality control of food at all times. Coordinate with the Sous Chef and Executive Chef on proper food preparation, execution, and plate presentation.
• Maintain cleanliness of workstation, kitchen area, and walk in cooler/freezer.
• Regularly make table visits to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Assist in training other culinary team members as needed.
• Participate in the execution of special events, private parties, and banquets. 
• Flexibility to work nights or mornings, weekends, holidays, and busy seasonal days.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of recent Culinary experience in a high volume, full service restaurant.
• Inspired to work with food and passionate about our hospitality industry.
• Excellent Knife skills.
• Open to learn new skills.
• Must continuously demonstrate a positive, upbeat and customer-focused attitude.
• Flexibility to work nights or mornings, weekends, holidays, and busy seasonal days.
