Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Endoscopy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (06:30 - 15:00) Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: SC license or Compact license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Traveler needs to stay within a 30-minute response time to the facility. If in the procedure suite, the nurse will work with a 1:1 ratio. Pre-op and discharge can have a 4:1 ratio. Weekend requirements are every third weekend. On-call duties are required and may involve floating within scope to meet facility needs. Description: The position is for an Endoscopy Registered Nurse. The nurse will work daytime shifts from 06:30 to 15:00. The role involves caring for adult and geriatric patients in an endoscopy lab. The daily census is approximately 15 patients with about 15 visits per day. The unit typically has one room for procedures. Special procedures include colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, and EUS. Equipment used includes Olympus scopes and gastro imaging software. The nurse will be involved in airway management, specimen handling and labeling, IV maintenance, and patient recovery. There will be interdisciplinary support available from physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Due to hurricane season, all employees may be assigned to emergency response teams, and travelers should be aware of potential assignments during this period. All requests for time off must be included when submitted. The facility is allowed to call off one shift per bi-weekly period. Travelers should complete all pre-start compliance on time for the proposed start date.
