Contracts Representative II

Honeywell Aerospace is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Contracts Administrator to join our Defense Systems Business in San Diego, CA. Join a dynamic team and play an integral role managing contracts of all types. This position offers a motivated individual the chance to work side by side with a multi-functional team on all contract related matters. This is a team-based environment providing the opportunity to work across a variety of departments and functional organizations.

Responsibilities

Major Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and reviewing contracts, amendments, extensions, and terminations
• Represents the Company independently or as part of a team on routine, complex, customer and supply chain transactions.
• Provides substantive contracts and proposal advice, and support to Business Area leads and Supply Chain leaders, as needed.
• Fosters and maintains a sound and reliable relationship with counterparts internal (especially Program Management, Customer Service and Finance) and external customer organizations.
• Shares subject matter knowledge to train Business Area cross-functional staff on contract issues to raise contract awareness, as needed.
• As a member of the Contracts team assist with development and implementation of functional strategy and deliverables.
• Participates in and, when requested, leads special projects or improvement initiatives.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities related to contracting, as required to include supporting audits by prime customers, DCMA, DCAA to include company Compliance Audits or specific data calls.
• Maintain a well-organized system of contract records, and ensure its accuracy and completeness
• Coordinate with internal departments and external parties for contract development and negotiations
• Interpret contract provisions and terms for managers and other involved parties
• Ensure all contracts comply with laws and company policies
• Track and monitor contracts and related documents to ensure timely contract renewals
• Collaborate with legal and finance departments for contract queries and clarifications
• Monitor contract performance to ensure all obligations are met

Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

• Three (3) years of experience in government and or commercial contracting.
• Familiarity with legal documents and terminology
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
• This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export law.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

• Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and documentation databases.
• Strong understanding of contract terms and conditions, FAR, DFARS, and risk mitigation strategies.

Compensation Range –

Salary Range: $79,000.00 – $99,000.00 annually in San Diego, CA. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as business results.
