Position Summary

EEE is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable Specialist to support the accuracy, efficiency, and integrity of our accounting operations. This role manages day-to-day accounts receivable and accounts payable activities, including invoice processing, payment applications, account reconciliations, and financial recordkeeping.

The ideal candidate has several years of hands-on AR/AP or general accounting experience, strong organizational skills, and proficiency with Sage Intacct. This individual will work closely with the CFO, internal departments, vendors, and customers to ensure transactions are processed accurately and financial records are maintained in a timely manner.

This is a full-time, on-site position based at EEE's Denver office, requiring attendance five days per week.

Essential Job FunctionsDaily Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices and prepare payments in accordance with company policies and approval procedures.
• Respond to vendor and customer inquiries regarding invoices, payments, and account balances.
• Record customer payments, deposits, credits, and adjustments accurately in Sage Intacct.
• Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable inboxes and ensure requests are addressed promptly.
• Maintain accurate transaction records and supporting documentation.

Weekly Responsibilities

• Reconcile recorded deposits and receipts to bank activity.
• Review outstanding accounts receivable balances and follow up on past-due accounts.
• Review vendor statements and investigate invoice or payment discrepancies.
• Prepare and post journal entries as needed, ensuring appropriate supporting documentation is maintained.
• Monitor outstanding invoices and payment schedules to support timely processing.

Monthly Responsibilities

• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts.
• Assist with month-end close activities related to accounts receivable and accounts payable.
• Review account balances and investigate discrepancies.
• Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation.
• Assist with preparing financial reports and accounting information for leadership.

Ongoing Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal departments, vendors, and customers.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Follow established internal controls, approval workflows, and accounting procedures.
• Support audits and external financial reviews by providing requested documentation and explanations.
• Perform other accounting-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong working knowledge of accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
• Hands-on experience with Sage Intacct is required.
• Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, spreadsheets, and financial data analysis.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and follow through on outstanding items.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with accounting and other departments.
• A proactive approach to resolving discrepancies and improving processes.

Experience Requirements

• Multiple years of hands-on accounts receivable, accounts payable, or general accounting experience required.
• Demonstrated experience using Sage Intacct in a professional accounting environment.
• Experience with invoicing, payment processing, account reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Manufacturing, engineering, electrical equipment, or project-based business experience preferred.
• Previous experience communicating directly with vendors and customers preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

• Pay Range: $27.00–$34.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Working Environment and Schedule

This is a full-time, on-site position based at EEE's Denver, Colorado office. The successful candidate must be available to work in the office five days per week and collaborate in person with the accounting team and other departments.

The role primarily involves office-based accounting work, including computer use, reviewing financial records, processing transactions, and communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
