Banquet Houseperson - Resort

Job Title

Ensure proper set up and tear down of meeting and banquet facilities in accordance with Big Cedar Lodge Food and Beverage standards and guest requests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Properly sets up, maintains and tears down banquet functions.

2. Maintains a clean, neat appearance, adheres to uniform specifications and reports to work for scheduled shifts.

3. Responsible for maintaining a high degree of cleanliness throughout function space, storage areas and vehicles.

4. Keep all equipment clean and in good working condition.

5. Follows mandatory service requirements as described by the manual.

6. Adheres to all resort and company policies, rules and regulations.

7. Reports repairs or safety issues.

8. Takes the initiative to greet all guests and fellow associates.

9. Facilitate all guest requests in a timely and courteous manner.

10. Complies with state liquor laws and health regulations.

11. Will perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Missouri class E or Arkansas P designated drivers license and a safe driving record is required. Ongoing verification of driving eligibility will be conducted to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Other Skills and Abilities: The ability to work well with a team, to prioritize, a sense of urgency and a real concern for guest satisfaction.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and talk or hear.

The employee is frequently required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

The employee is occasionally required to taste or smell.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions.

The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold and extreme heat.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
