Banking & Finance Associate Attorney

Law firm on Lexington Avenue in downtown Manhattan, NY (financial district) seeks a Midlevel Associate Attorney (4–6 years) for its growing Banking Practice Group. The successful candidate will have substantial experience in transactional creditor’s law, including drafting liens and loans for creditworthy borrowers, managing day-to-day legal matters for banks and investment groups, and representing mid-sized to large lenders in traditional lending transactions. This role also involves assessing risk, advising clients on how to structure financing effectively, and helping ensure their capital is deployed in the most strategic and efficient manner possible.The qualified candidate will ideally have 4-6 years of experience with good tenure (2 years on average) at reputable large law firms or AmLaw specific legal practices.Day to Day:Represent and advise lenders and borrowers in a broad range of financing transactionsStructure, negotiate, document, and close domestic and international transactions (syndicated and bilateral; secured and unsecured)Draft and negotiate credit agreements, reimbursement agreements, security agreements, intercreditor agreements, participation agreements, receivables purchase agreements, and related ancillary documentsAnalyze relevant issues under the UCC (including Articles 9, 5, 8, and 12) and the Bankruptcy CodeQualificationsJuris Doctorate in Law from an ABA-accredited law school.4+ years of experience within a private practice law firm setting (or seconded to a bank or financial insitution).Ability to handle a caseload of 10+ matters at a given time with stringent efficiency and attention.Annual base salary is between $180,000 and $200,000. The salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors, including, but not limited to, work experience, skill set, and other requirements as set forth in the job description.
