Rewarding experience making a difference in the community. Responsibilities Objective/Purpose The Floater Teacher Assistant helps create and maintain a welcoming and secure classroom environment. They support day‑to‑day operations, provide coverage for teachers, assist with cleaning, childcare for evening events, and substitute instruction when needed. Major Responsibilities Provide teachers with breaks and coverage for meetings, ride the bus as needed, replenish classroom food, assist with daily cleaning, and substitute in the classroom as required. Classroom Activities Supervise play activities, help children participate in individual and group tasks, observe and report behaviors, and collaborate with teaching teams to provide appropriate support. Classroom and Facility Maintenance Clean classrooms, sweep and bag trash, ensure lights, air conditioners and doors are secured, conduct playground safety checks, and perform kitchen duties such as meal preparation and cleanup. Documentation Ensure compliance with Office of Head Start and Child Care Licensing regulations, keep Bright Futures Quality Credential accounts up to date, assist with case notes and child observations, and manage child sign‑in/out procedures. Bus Monitoring Assist children with seat harnesses, supervise during bus rides, keep disruptions minimal, maintain bus cleanliness, assist the driver with pre‑ and post‑checks, and help during emergency drills. Perform other duties as assigned. Job Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent. Must hold a valid Child Development Associate Certification (CDA) or an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education (AA) or be enrolled in a program leading to a CDA or AA within 2 years of employment start date.
