Regulatory Counsel

For our client, we are seeking a Regulatory Counsel to join the team of a leader in the Manufacturing & Automotive space. This role will provide business-aligned guidance focused on governance, compliance, and operational risk management. You will partner with leaders, compliance stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate complex issues into practical recommendations. The position offers the opportunity to strengthen responsible execution, improve decision-making, and support sustainable growth within a manufacturing environment. Location: Washington, DC - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $251,000 – $310,000 annually Responsibilities Develop compliance vision and strategy for novel technology regulations Advise on U.S. federal matters, focusing on legislative needs Engage in cross-functional efforts to align regulatory compliance with project plans Address new legal questions and provide informed guidance Collaborate with the Policy team on regulatory advocacy strategies Evaluate and provide counsel on proposed legislation and regulations Participate in stakeholder negotiations and advice generation Qualifications Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school with active bar membership 5+ years of legal experience in either a firm, in-house, or government setting Proficient in regulatory and legislative matters, including rulemaking and compliance programs Strong ability to quickly learn and adapt to evolving technology and regulations Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Collaborative mindset with ability to work cross-functionally Experience in providing nuanced legal advice on complex issues Self-starter with a proven track record in execution of tasks efficiently Deep understanding of the intersection between law, policy, and business landscapes Benefits Participation in a discretionary annual bonus program Eligibility for an equity incentive plan Access to a generous company benefits program Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
