Registered Pharmacy Technician

Job Description Job Description Currently seeking an experienced state certified Pharmacy Technician for a full time position in Detroit. Under the supervision of a Licensed Pharmacist, you will assist in the provision of pharmacy services. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Checks all prescriptions for completeness of information. Verifies patient information and proper physician authorization * Enters patient data and prescription information into computer system. * Prepares medication orders and pre-packaged medications in commonly used quantities. Prepares mail-out prescriptions. * Calculates correct dosages, converting between metric and apothecary equivalents. * Types prescription labels and assists with filing and billing. Computes prices. * Assists with invent01y control of medications. Helps order supplies and medications. Receives and stock medications. * Provides non-drug information to patients and answers simple inquires. * Cleans pharmacy equipment, utensils, and work areas. * Attends required meetings and participates in committees as required. * Maintains patient confidentiality. * Performs related work as assigned by Supervisor. * QUALIFICATIONS: o High School Diploma or GED Certificate required. o Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician Program or National Pharmacy Technician Board Certification required for out of state applicants. o Current State of Michigan Pharmacy Tech License required o Completion of on-job Pharmacy Technician training program required o Minimum of 1 (one) year of pharmacy experience required.
