SUMMARY: Directs the activities of employees engaged in manufacturing activities including but not limited to training and supervising, maintaining a positive work environment, ensuring compliance with safety standards and established policies and procedures.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Supervises production equipment set-up including but not limited to testing and adjusting equipment prior to operation and ensuring production starts on schedule.

·         Supervises all production activities performed by employees; maintains a high degree of visibility and access to employees throughout the shift.

·         Establishes and maintains department standards for productivity, reliability, and accuracy.

·         Monitors and reports daily production results, material usage, waste, and downtime.

·         Reports equipment problems to appropriate department and production manager. Submits maintenance requests for equipment repairs.

·         Coordinates with quality control to maintain quality standards; takes appropriate corrective measures to resolve deficiencies.

·         Coordinates with the production manager to manage personnel issues including but not limited to vacation approvals, time card approval, daily and weekly overtime, hiring, and training.

·         Assists production manager with development and implementation of policies and procedures; ensures all established policies and procedures are followed by employees.

·         Resolves production-related issues with representatives from other department throughout the company.

·         Maintains a working knowledge of all operating systems pertaining to the work area.

·         Maintains safety programs and all required safety training for employees.

• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

·         Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems .

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Two to four years related experience or equivalent.

·         Knowledge of production practices and procedures.

·         Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating subordinates

·         Commitment to excellence and high standards

·         Excellent written and oral communication skills

·         Basic competence in subordinates’ duties and tasks

·         Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills

·         Ability to manage priorities and workflow

·         Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing

priorities with enthusiasm

·         Proficient on Oracle Forms and Email.

·         Strong interpersonal skills.

·         Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.

·         Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions

·         Bilingual skills a plus.

·         Ability to understand any and all safety requirements and cautions

·         Ability to perform the physical labor necessary

·         Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various

backgrounds.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Continually required to stand
• Frequently required to walk
• Frequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
• Frequently required to lift or carry items less up to 50 pounds
• Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts
• Occasionally/Frequently/Continually loud noise (examples: metal can manufacturing, large earth-moving equipment)

• Safety Shoes (employee must provide)
• Earplugs (employer provided)
• Safety Glasses (employer provided)
• Gloves, if required (employer provided)
• Face shields, if required (employer provided)

 

HOURS

·         Regular Production Hours:  6:00am – 2:30pm M-F

·         The Supervisor position requires additional time before and after regular production hours. This position may require mandatory overtime that includes evenings and/or weekends.
