Patient Services Representative - Twin Cities Orthopedics

The Patient Services Representative is responsible for patient registration and check in as well as clinical support duties. This is a part-time (0.375 FTE) role, working the following schedule: Monday: 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM at Woodbury Clinic andUrgent Care Tuesday: 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM at Woodbury Clinic and Urgent Care Friday: 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Vadnais Heights Clinic and Urgent Care Additional Coverage: Occasional evening coverage at Woodbury or Vadnais Heights Urgent Care Weekend (Sat and Sun) rotation, once per quarter at Vadnais Heights Urgent Care Twin Cities Orthopedics is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a group of local medical practices, owned and led by its physicians, on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare. Essential Functions: Greet and register patients; collect co-payments, pre-payments, insurance information, and photo ID Verify and document insurance information as defined by current business practices Accurate and timely scheduling of new and existing patients in the current practice management system Communicate all pertinent information to patients, including: appointment information, directions, check-in times, referral information and copayments Chart preparation and management Maintain a working knowledge of health care plan requirements and health plan networks Maintain timely communication with patients, families, and staff Rotation of Switchboard Operator duties which include: accepting, handling and transferring calls, coordination of interpreters for clinic appointments, and coordination of patient referrals Any and all other duties as assigned Education and Experience Requirements: High School diploma/GED or equivalent Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel Customer Service experience required Administrative or Medical Office experience preferred Benefits & Compensation: Actual starting pay will vary based on education, skills, and experience. A $1,500 sign-on bonus will be offered for select roles, payable on first paycheck with a 12-month commitment. Internal applicants are not eligible for the sign-on bonus. Working Conditions: Ability to sit for extended periods (up to 8 or more hours per day). Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling documents. Occasional standing, walking, bending, or reaching within the office environment. Ability to lift and carry office supplies or files weighing up to 20 pounds. Visual acuity to read electronic and paper documents. Auditory ability to participate in phone or video calls clearly. Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment (e.g., computer, phone, printer).
