Sheet Metal Installer IAs a Sheet Metal Installer I, you'll support the installation, fabrication, and assembly of sheet metal ductwork and HVAC components on commercial projects, working under direct supervision to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic field environment. Our people-first culture invests in your entry-level development with structured training, mentorship, clear advancement paths, and the satisfaction of building foundational skills while helping create better indoor environments for communities to thrive.Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist in the fabrication, assembly, and installation of sheet metal ductwork, fittings, and accessories per blueprints, specifications, and SMACNA standards under direct supervision.Support layout, cutting, bending, and sealing of ductwork using appropriate hand and power tools.Perform general site preparation, cleanup, material handling, and organization to maintain a safe and efficient work area.Help load/unload materials, transport equipment, and assist with rigging/lifting tasks as directed.Participate in daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and hazard identification; follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE at all times.Document basic work activities, material usage, and time logs as instructed.Actively learn dry-side HVAC applications, sheet metal techniques, and industry best practices through on-the-job training and mentorship.Requirements/QualificationsExperience: 0–3 years in construction, labor, or related field; no prior HVAC/sheet metal experience required—strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn preferred.Education: High school diploma or GED required; trade school or vocational training in construction or metalwork a plus.Physical Demands: Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs, climb ladders/scaffolding/stairs, work in confined spaces or at heights, bend/kneel/crouch, reach overhead, and use hand/power tools for extended periods; frequent standing, walking, and manual dexterity required.Work Environment/Safety: Primarily field-based in commercial/industrial construction settings (indoor/outdoor, varying weather conditions, active job sites); exposure to noise, dust, heights, sharp materials, and mechanical hazards; must strictly adhere to OSHA regulations, conduct hazard identification, and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, harnesses, and steel-toed boots at all times—safety is our top priority and non-negotiable. Occasional regional travel within assigned market or on-call rotations may be required as business needs dictate.
