Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical (Travel Contract)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36 Hours per Week Guaranteed | Rotating Weekends | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical/Surgical unit serving adult and geriatric populations
• Manage a patient assignment within a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio in an 18-bed unit
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately using Meditech EHR
• Float to other units as required to meet staffing needs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and take ownership of assigned patient care responsibilities

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Alabama or through Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)
• Minimum of 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience (5 years strongly preferred)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Proficiency or ability to quickly adapt to Meditech EHR
• Willingness to float to other units as needed
• Availability for rotating weekend shifts

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 5 or more years of Med/Surg nursing experience
• Prior travel nursing experience in a Medical/Surgical setting
• Strong team-player mentality with demonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership of patient care
