Physician-Hospice/Palliative Care

Job Summary Banner University Medical Group and the Division of General Internal Medicine, Palliative Medicine, and Geriatrics are seeking a board‑certified or board‑eligible Hospice and Palliative Medicine physician to join our growing academic palliative care program in Tucson, Arizona. The successful candidate will provide inpatient palliative care consultation at Banner University Medical Center Tucson and South Campuses and will be an integral member of an interdisciplinary team that includes physicians, advanced practice providers, social workers, chaplains, case managers, and community hospice staff. Responsibilities Provide primary inpatient palliative care consultation for adult patients with serious illness across a broad range of specialized services (Neurology, Medical, Cardiac and Surgical ICUs, Transplant, Oncology, and Advanced Heart Failure). Participate in interdisciplinary education, rounds, and quality‑improvement initiatives within the academic health system. Teach medical students, residents, and Hospice & Palliative Medicine fellows. Develop and grow palliative care services across the university system and the broader community. Engage in curriculum development and scholarly activities as appropriate. Qualifications Board‑eligible or board‑certified in Hospice & Palliative Medicine. Clinical experience preferred but open to new graduates from fellowship. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Commitment to teaching and mentoring in an academic environment. Interest in quality improvement, program development, and scholarly activity. Schedule Monday to Friday. No weekends and no call.
