At TopView, we challenge ourselves daily to raise the bar and deliver world-class sightseeing experiences.Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and hands-on Controller to join our growing team in Dallas, TX. This role oversees the full spectrum of accounting operations and plays a critical part in safeguarding company assets. The Controller will lead financial reporting and monthly close, manage day-to-day treasury and cash processes, strengthen fraud prevention and internal controls, and ensure compliance across tax, insurance, licensing, and regulatory areas. The ideal candidate brings both technical accounting expertise and operational discipline, with the ability to balance detail-oriented execution and team leadership in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.NOTE: This is a full-time, in-office position based in our Dallas, TX headquarters. The role requires regular interaction with team members, vendors, and external partners. Some travel may be required.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & AnalysisPrepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsLead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are consistently metSupport FP&A in budget preparation and forecasting processesAccounting OperationsOversee all general ledger activities and ensure proper accounting treatment of transactionsManage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management processesCoordinate and supervise annual external financial reviews (and audits as applicable) with outside CPA firms.Ensure compliance with GAAP and all applicable accounting standardsTreasury & Risk ManagementManage daily cash management processes and prepare short-term cash forecasts to support liquidity needsImplement fraud detection and prevention procedures, including bank reconciliation reviews, positive pay, and ACH/wire controlsEnsure accurate revenue recognition across all ticket distribution channels, and point-of-sale systems; reconcile ticketing platforms with bank depositsManage corporate insurance policies and coordinate renewals, claims, and broker relationshipsImplement and maintain robust internal controls and proceduresCompliance, Controls, & Asset ProtectionCoordinate preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns with outside CPA firmEnsure compliance with all regulatory requirements and filing deadlinesManage sales and local tax compliance across multiple jurisdictionsSupport business license and regulatory compliance effortsEstablish and continuously optimize purchasing policies and approval controls to ensure cost-effective vendor managementOversee inventory accounting, valuation, and control processes to safeguard assetsSystems & Process ManagementUtilize NetSuite ERP system for financial management and reporting (NetSuite experience strongly preferred)Drive process improvements and automation to increase efficiency and accuracyMaintain and enhance financial systems integration and data integritySupport system implementations and upgrades as neededHR, Payroll & Workforce OversightOversee payroll, benefits, and compliance; ensure accuracy, reconciliations, and cost controlEnsure compliance with multi-state labor laws and reporting, maintaining strong internal controlsTrack and analyze labor costs across departments and cities, linking headcount and staffing levels to financial performance and support staffing strategies and city-level profitabilityPartner with HR to improve policies, onboarding/offboarding, and align processes with financial controls.Team Leadership & DevelopmentSupervise, mentor, and develop 2+ accounting staff membersDevelop team capabilities through training and professional developmentFoster a collaborative and high-performance accounting team cultureParticipate in hiring and performance management processesRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldCPA certification requiredMinimum 7 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership of month-end close and financial reportingDemonstrated experience in cash management, account reconciliations, and fraud prevention/internal controlsPrevious Controller or Assistant Controller experience requiredStrong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirementsAdvanced proficiency in Excel and financial analysisExperience with ERP systems (NetSuite experience strongly preferred)Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skillsStrong written and verbal communication abilitiesProven ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven entrepreneurial environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience in service industry, tourism, transportation, or hospitality sectorsPublic accounting background with audit experienceAdvanced degree (MBA or MS in Accounting) preferredHands-on experience implementing fraud detection tools, purchasing workflows, or inventory controlsExperience managing or coordinating insurance renewals and claimsExperience with multi-location operationsKnowledge of sales tax compliance and regulationsProject management experienceWhat We OfferCompetitive salary range: $130,000 - $150,000 annuallyComprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurancePaid time off and holiday scheduleCollaborative and dynamic work environmentOpportunity to contribute to a growing company in the exciting tourism industry
