We’re Looking for an Experienced Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our CPA firm. This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for a professional who can confidently handle both accounting/bookkeeping and individual and business tax preparation.

This position also involves regular face-to-face meetings with clients, so the ability to communicate professionally and confidently is essential.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Applicants must have:

• 2–3 years of accounting and bookkeeping experience
• 2–3 years of tax preparation experience
• Experience preparing both personal and business tax returns
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
• Experience with reconciliations, general ledger, and financial reporting
• Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned work
• UltraTax CS experience is a plus
• CPA firm/public accounting experience is strongly preferred
• Comfortable meeting and communicating face-to-face with clients

What You’ll Do

• Prepare individual and business tax returns
• Perform bookkeeping and accounting services
• Reconcile bank, credit card, and other accounts
• Prepare and review financial statements
• Meet face-to-face with individual and business clients to discuss their accounting, bookkeeping, and tax needs
• Communicate with clients to obtain information and resolve questions
• Explain accounting and tax information clearly and professionally
• Identify and communicate accounting and tax issues
• Maintain accurate and organized client records
• Meet firm and client deadlines
• Assist with tax planning and other accounting projects
• Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients

Professional client interaction is an essential part of this position. The successful candidate must be comfortable meeting with clients face to face, asking questions, gathering financial information, discussing tax and accounting matters, and representing the firm in a professional manner.

TAX SEASON

Extended hours are required during tax season. Candidates must be willing and able to work additional hours when necessary to meet client and filing deadlines.

This position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working with both accounting and tax clients , is comfortable working directly with people, and wants to be an important part of a CPA firm.

We are looking for someone who can prepare the work accurately, communicate confidently with clients, and take ownership of their responsibilities.

If you don't have at least 2–3 years of both accounting/bookkeeping experience AND tax preparation experience, this position may not be the right fit.
