Litigation Attorney

Job Overview A law firm seeks a mid-level litigation associate in Cleveland, OH, with 4-7 years of experience. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of cases, enhance trial skills, and collaborate with experienced litigators on complex matters. Duties Handle all phases of litigation, from early case strategy through resolution. Draft and argue substantive motions and briefs. Take and defend depositions, both fact and expert. Manage written discovery efficiently and strategically. Appear in court for hearings, conferences, and trials. Communicate directly with clients and opposing counsel. Collaborate with partners and attorneys on case planning and execution. Track time accurately and in line with firm standards. Requirements 4-7 years of solid civil litigation experience in state and/or federal court. Proven experience with depositions, discovery, and motion practice. Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills. Comfortable managing multiple matters with minimal supervision. Professional, practical, and client-focused mindset. Trial experience is a plus but not required. Active Ohio law license and good standing, or ability to waive in promptly. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Certifications Active Ohio law license. Skills Strong legal writing and research abilities. Excellent analytical skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
