The selected candidate will be offered a salary between $40,223.00 - $46,256.00. The Administration for Children's Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well-being of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages community-based supports and foster care services and provides subsidized childcare vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. In juvenile justice, ACS oversees detention, placement, and programs for youth in the community. The Supply Chain and Compliance Unit within the Division of Administration is responsible for the provision of selected goods and services to ACS' families and children in care and youth residents in our secured detention centers. The team supports and facilitates requests from other ACS divisions to provide critical goods and services, including but not limited to clothing, cribs, beds, commissary, heavy duty cleaning services, window guards and lock changes to ACS' families, youth and children in care. The Institutional Aide enables ACS to provide clothing, personal hygiene items, shoes, etc. to Youth Residents by accurate ordering and inventory and preventing shortages. This position will assist in a variety of administrative tasks throughout the Children's Center property room areas. The primary duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

• Ensure records kept are accurate and properly documented physically and/or digitally.
• Provide for the receipt, storage, care and distribution of clothing items and supplies.
• Written inventories are neat and accurate * Supplies are maintained at adequate levels and Inventories are completed on schedule * Requisitions are properly signed and completed * Linen properly sorted/ Picked up within prescribed deadlines * Pack, unpack, count, weigh, measure materials and supplies
• Clean storage, supply, and linen rooms and bags soiled linen.
• Liaise with vendors regarding acceptance/rejection of deliveries.
• Load and unload at the point of pickup or delivery, or distribution. Operate equipment necessary to perform loading and unloading.

Minimum Qualifications: Ability to read and write English and to understand and carry out simple instructions.

Residency Requirement: New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
