About the Role The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) will join The Doctor’s growing mental health team, supporting our mission to make care accessible, affirming, and human. You’ll work in a hybrid model —balancing in-person appointments at our Los Angeles clinic with telemedicine visits for patients across California. You’ll collaborate closely with our primary care, wellness, and behavioral health providers to deliver compassionate, evidence‑based psychiatric care in a modern, inclusive environment. What You’ll Do Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and follow‑ups for adult patients. Prescribe and manage medications, ensuring safe and effective treatment plans. Deliver both in‑person and virtual care while maintaining continuity and high‑quality patient experience. Collaborate with the care team (primary care, therapy, and operations) to coordinate holistic treatment. Educate patients about their conditions, medications, and coping strategies. Maintain thorough clinical documentation and uphold all regulatory standards. Contribute to team meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and a culture of empathy and innovation. Qualifications Active California Nurse Practitioner license with PMHNP certification (PMHNP‑BC). DEA license with prescriptive authority. Minimum 2 years of psychiatric or behavioral health experience preferred. Strong understanding of trauma‑informed and LGBTQ+‑affirming care. Excellent communication, clinical judgment, and adaptability in both virtual and in‑person settings. Tech‑friendly and comfortable using EHR and telehealth platforms.
