Gastroenterology Physician Assistant

Position Overview

We are seeking a Full-Time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a dynamic Gastroenterology team based in Meridian, Idaho , with coverage across Boise and Nampa .

This role offers a balanced mix of outpatient clinic care and inpatient GI management , focused on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across the continuum.

The ideal provider will bring strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative mindset to a multidisciplinary GI team. Prior gastroenterology experience is preferred, but motivated candidates from acute care, family medicine, urgent care, women s health, or cardiology are encouraged to apply.

Meridian, Idaho
Coverage areas: Boise & Nampa, ID

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient evaluations and physical exams
• Review medical histories and assess GI conditions
• Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic testing (labs & imaging)
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic gastrointestinal disorders
• Prescribe and manage treatment plans and medications
• Provide patient education on GI health, procedures, and prevention
• Ensure continuity of care across outpatient and inpatient settings
• Maintain accurate documentation (EPIC experience preferred)
• Collaborate closely with gastroenterologists and care teams
• Participate in ongoing learning and clinical development

Qualifications

• Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
• Active or eligible Idaho license
• Master s degree required (Doctorate is a plus )
• Minimum 1 year of Gastroenterology experience required
• Strong clinical reasoning and critical thinking skills
• Excellent patient communication and education abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
• Understanding of healthcare compliance and documentation standards

Schedule

• Clinic Hours: Monday Friday 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
• Inpatient coverage: Rotating schedule based on needs
• Occasional night call may be required
• Balanced mix of clinic + hospital responsibilities
