Job Summary A Greenville-area law firm is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Paralegal to support attorneys handling insurance defense and civil litigation matters. Key Responsibilities Support attorneys throughout all phases of insurance defense and civil litigation matters. Prepare, organize, review, and maintain legal documents, pleadings, discovery materials, correspondence, and case files. Track litigation deadlines, coordinate calendars, schedule meetings, and help manage case-related timelines. Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, vendors, and other parties as needed. Conduct legal research and assist with factual investigation, document review, and case preparation. Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, preparing materials, and coordinating logistics. Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $50,000 to $63,000 per year, depending on experience. Job type: Direct hire. Location: Greenville, SC. Required Qualifications and Skills Support insurance defense and civil litigation cases from intake through resolution. Manage legal documents, case files, discovery materials, deadlines, and calendars. Assist attorneys with research, case preparation, client communication, and trial support. 3 to 5 years of paralegal experience preferred, with prior litigation experience strongly valued. Previous experience as a paralegal in insurance defense, civil litigation, or a related legal practice area. Strong understanding of legal terminology, litigation procedures, pleadings, discovery, and court deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard legal office technology. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple cases and competing deadlines accurately. Professional judgment, confidentiality, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced legal environment. Preferred Qualifications Prior insurance defense experience. Civil litigation experience within a law firm environment. Paralegal education, certificate, or related legal studies background. Experience assisting with trial preparation, discovery management, and case file organization.
