A load planner optimizes freight transportation by assigning loads to trucks, coordinating with carriers, and utilizing specialized software to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and timely delivery of shipments. Manages the efficient movement of goods throughout a supply chain, handling tasks like scheduling shipments, tracking orders, managing inventory, optimizing transportation, and resolving issues to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery to customers./ppSupervisory Responsibilities:/pp None/ppEssential Functions:/ppResponsibilities:/pp Oversee the entire supply chain process, from the initial movement of raw materials to the final delivery of products to customers./pp Coordinate and manage the timely delivery of shipments; prepare purchase orders, track shipments, and ensure proper documentation at each movement./pp Build, optimize, and assign loads./pp Manage inventory levels and ensure that stock of materials and equipment is adequate for company needs./pp Proactively identify and resolve any issues that arise during the transportation and/or delivery process./pp Respond to customer inquiries, provide information on shipments, and meet customer expectations./pp*Performs additional responsibilities as assigned*/ppQualifications:/ppEducation and/or Experience:/pp High School Diploma/pp Minimum 6 months experience in a dispatch role/ppKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:/pp Proficient working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook/pp Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)/pp Strong customer service skills/pp Detail-oriented/pp Experience with SAP or other warehousing software/pp Strong organizational and time management skills/pp Ability to analyze logistical procedures, identify areas for improvement, and solve problems quickly/pp Ability to work both independently and as part of a team/ppPhysical Requirements:/pp Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer/pp Ability to work in warehouse environment (concrete floors, changing temperatures)/pp Ability to walk long distances in warehouse/p/div
