Surgery Veterinary Technician

Position Overview Veterinary Technician – Surgery Proposed Schedule: Mon–Thurs 9‑7 p.m. or Tues–Fri 9‑7 p.m. Compensation: $28.25 – $44.00 per hour based on skillset and experience. Our surgical team is a fast‑paced environment that offers training in multiple facets of the department and interaction with other hospital teams. Strong communication skills are essential to liaise between surgeons and clients and deliver post‑operative care instructions. What you’ll do Manage appointments, obtain patient histories, medical record keeping, invoicing, patient discharges, etc. Fill medications, enter charges, maintain accurate medical records, schedule appointments. Create patient releases and navigate client conversations around treatment plans and financial obligations. Prep patients for surgery, including shaving, scrubbing, positioning; assist with intubation and radiographs. Perform blood draws and submit bloodwork. Ensure documentation is accurate and complete. Open, turn over and clean operating rooms, clean instruments and wrap packs. Who are you State Registered Veterinary Technician license (preferred). Prior veterinary experience (required); previous surgery experience desired. Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant‑rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.). Flexibility with work hours and ability to work additional hours when necessary. Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
