Job Title: Cleaner / Janitor / Custodian Job Description

This role provides cleaning and basic maintenance services to keep facilities in a clean, safe, and orderly condition. The position follows an afternoon and evening schedule from Monday to Thursday, 4:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., and Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., supporting both daily janitorial tasks and general building upkeep.

• Perform daily cleaning of the building, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and cleaning restrooms to maintain a sanitary and orderly environment.
• Collect, remove, and properly dispose of garbage and recyclables from interior and exterior areas.
• Stock and replenish supplies such as restroom products, cleaning materials, and other facility-related items.
• Unpack, receive, and organize all incoming supplies to ensure they are stored appropriately and readily available.
• Support internal office moves and relocations, including tearing down and assembling office cubicles and related furniture.
• Assist with general building start-up activities to ensure the facility is ready for use, including basic checks and preparation of common areas.
• Perform minor electrical tasks as needed, such as resetting breakers or assisting with simple repairs under guidance.
• Carry out minor plumbing tasks, including basic troubleshooting and small repairs as required.
• Replace lights and perform simple fixture maintenance to keep lighting systems functioning properly.
• Conduct general building clean-up for both interior and exterior areas, maintaining a neat and presentable facility.
• Handle interior and exterior recycling activities, ensuring materials are sorted and placed in appropriate containers.
• Perform other general building maintenance needs as assigned to support efficient facility operations.
• Operate industrial cleaning equipment and perform basic preventative maintenance and repairs on this equipment as needed.
• Follow inspection and cleaning procedures to ensure all areas meet established cleanliness and safety standards.

• General experience working with industrial cleaning equipment and the ability to perform basic preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Knowledge of basic manual work techniques and safe handling practices for tools and equipment.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 to 100 pounds safely and repeatedly as part of daily duties.
• Reliable attendance and the ability to consistently meet scheduled work hours.
• Positive attitude and willingness to perform a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks.
• Up to 0–2 years of related janitorial, cleaning, or custodial experience, including at least 6 months of janitorial duties.
• Ability to follow inspection procedures and quality standards for cleanliness and building maintenance.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Floor care experience, such as stripping, waxing, and buffing floors, is a plus.
• Experience with janitorial duties in a commercial or office environment is beneficial.
• Familiarity with inspection processes for cleanliness and facility upkeep is an advantage.

This role is based in a facility environment that requires regular movement throughout the building, including offices, restrooms, common areas, and exterior grounds. You will work afternoon and evening shifts from Monday to Thursday, 4:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., and Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The position involves frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting 50 to 100 pounds, as well as operating industrial cleaning equipment and handling cleaning chemicals according to safety guidelines. The work setting includes both indoor and outdoor tasks, with a focus on maintaining clean, orderly, and safe conditions throughout the property. Appropriate work attire should be practical and suitable for physical tasks and use of cleaning equipment.

This is a Contract position based out of Milwaukee, WI.

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
